Martha Stewart revealed her plans to host a garden party at The Plaza on Tuesday night were thwarted after learning she contracted coronavirus.
The entrepreneur, 80, announced to her more than 1.6 million followers that she was ‘sad to report’ that she ‘tested positive for COVID-19’ via Instagram – minutes before she was due to host a party for skincare brand Mario Badescu.
‘I am feeling fine but I am sticking to the rules and isolating,’ she captioned a video of the party. ‘I’m heartbroken to be missing the celebration of over 50 years of amazing skincare and the launch of ‘The Martha Facial’ at their NYC flagship – which is a special offer of the facial I’ve been receiving there for more than forty years!.’
She concluded: ‘Cheers to what I’m sure will be a fabulous event.’
Her post received more than 30,110 views in under an hour as well as 200 comments, many from fans wishing her a speedy recovery.
