THERE IS MORE SAID IN THE PODCAST AUDIO THAN IN THE NOTES BELOW
Welcome to the How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #72. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.
Deuteronomy 28:59-61 says, “Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.”
The Evangelical Commentary on the Bible says, “God’s covenant vengeance will be poured out on violators, even within the sanctuary of their own land. “Forsaking him” (v. 20; Heb. because you have forsaken me) is at the heart of covenant breaking, namely, the violation of the first commandment. This is the essence of sin and rebellion. It is of the nature of holiness not only to show love and mercy (the blessings) but also just retribution for sin (the curses). Hence diseases, drought, and war all aim at disciplining Israel in order to reclaim her to covenantal relationship. Instead of man exercising dominion over the creation and feasting upon it, covenant-breaking man will be devoured by the birds and beasts (v. 26). Instead of protection from the diseases of Egypt (7:15), Israel will be afflicted with diseases in which their powerlessness and frustration will be manifest.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Revelation 2:4-5 says, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”
Leonard Ravenhill said, “If we will give God time, He will give us timeless souls.”

Hebrews 12:28 says, “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:”
Scott LaPierre said, “Paul’s son in the faith, Timothy, grew up to be a wonderful, godly young man. He was so impressive, even at a young age when Paul met him he wanted to bring him along. What made Timothy so exceptional? Paul gives the answer in 2 Timothy 3:15, “From childhood you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” From a young age Timothy knew the Scriptures, which did two things for him: First, they made him wise; Scripture is where true wisdom comes from. Second, they provided him with salvation; they taught him how to be saved through faith in Christ Jesus. This is a great example of what we should desire for our children: that they know the Scriptures at a young age, that they’re wise for salvation, that they know to put their faith in Christ. And where did Timothy receive this instruction? Did he receive it from his 4th grade teacher, the government, or even the church? He received it from his mother Eunice and his grandmother Lois. And this is where our children should receive the same wisdom and discipleship.”
First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.
But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.
The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.
Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.
Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.
And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.
The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.
If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
