Just days after a man filmed himself surprising his wife with a positive pregnancy test, to more than 12 million views, the couple has returned to YouTube to announce that they’ve had a miscarriage.
The sorrowful news announced by Sam Rader, 29, and his wife Nia, 26, came three days after a video showed Sam revealing a positive pregnancy test to his allegedly shocked wife and two young kids.
It was completed without his wife’s knowledge after she failed to flush a bathroom toilet, he explained in the prior video that was seen around the world.
In a new video posted Saturday titled “Our Baby Had a Heartbeat,” the teary-eyed couple didn’t shy away from expressing their utter heartbreak.
“Those of you who have experienced miscarriage before, I can relate now,” Nia said while stifling tears.
“The Bible says to weep with those who weep and mourn with those who mourn, and I am mourning with those of you who are feeling this,” she goes on.
Sam and Nia, who post a daily video blog about their lives as married high school sweethearts, said they had to take a break before publicly announcing the sad news.
When they returned again on Sunday, Sam described themselves as still recovering from a “total emotional roller coaster.”
But thanks to their success — which includes more than 62,000 likes on Facebook and more than 318,000 YouTube subscribers — Sam also announced that he was able to quit his job.
They said they also plan to try for another baby again.
