49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh Wants to Stay in the NFL, but his Family Thinks Michigan Is a Better Choice

Everybody has an opinion on where Jim Harbaugh should coach, including those closest to him.

The 49ers coach’s family and friends have been “encouraging” him to accept the job as head coach at his alma mater, Michigan, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday.

Harbaugh, though, “is torn because his heart is in the NFL,” sources told Schefter, and he’d like to see what other coaching opportunities arise.

Earlier in the week, the university reportedly offered Harbaugh a six-year, $49 million contract to replace ousted Wolverines coach Brady Hoke.
