Easily reaching the 200,000 signatures needed this week to help keep the Duggars’ show 19 Kids and Counting on television — after a leftist attack spurred by homosexual activists — a LifeSiteNews petition in support of the Christian homeschool family recently tallied more than 53,000 signatures within a 24-hour period.

The controversy to oust the popular show from The Learning Channel (TLC) began after the godly mother of 19, Michelle Duggar, was attacked by ‘gay’ activists for her opposition to a proposed “transgender” bill. If passed, it could be enforced in Fayetteville, Arkansas — not far from the Baptist family’s home. Change.org began a petition months ago that demands TLC to pull the Duggars’ 19 Kids and Counting TV show out of its lineup and off the air.

Michelle Duggar was vocal about her opposition to the problematic ordinance under consideration — one that would permit transgender men to use women’s restrooms, locker rooms, showers and other facilities that have traditionally been reserved for women only. The only prerequisite that these transgender men, who are biologically males, would need to enter a women’s facility is their self-proclamation that they believe they are females.

The Duggar mother, who has nine daughters of her own, offered a question that made her position and concern very clear.

“Parents, who do you want undressing next to your daughter at the public swimming pool’s private changing area?” posed Michelle Duggar. She is married to Jim Bob, who works in real estate and supports their 19 homeschooled children in a debt-free environment.

The outspoken mother has also publicly supported the biblical definition of marriage as between one man and one woman on Facebook.

But when San Jose, Calif., resident Jim Wissick got wind of the Duggars stance against the transgender “bathroom bill,” he began an aggressive campaign on Change.org, calling people to sign the petition in order to force a cancellation of their extremely popular TV show. Wissick included a note on the petition about one of the Duggars’ 10 sons, Josh, warning Americans that he works for the “hate-filled, anti-gay organization” Family Research Council, which is actually a pro-family nonprofit Christian organization based in the nation’s capital that champions biblical values, including natural marriage.

Wissick’s plea against the Duggars candidly denounces their beliefs as hate-filled and intolerable.

“The Learning Channel & Discovery Networks need to separate themselves from this bigotry and put an end to the Duggar’s show,” Wissick’s petition page on Change.org states.

Last week, the anti-Duggars petition reached over 100,000 signatures, mostly from the promotions of leftist activists and pro-gay media outlets.

More Support
To bring in more support for the Duggars, some celebrities are voicing their own thoughts on the matter to get the word out.

LifeSiteNews, which launched its petition to “Defend the Duggars as they come under attack!” has the backing of the Benham Brothers, who had their popular HGTV show cancelled as a result of a “gay” activist campaign designed to condemn them for their Christian beliefs on controversial moral topics. They expressed their disappointment in seeing the Duggars attacked for holding to the very same values that they refused to forsake.

“[The Duggars are victims of] the same intolerant agenda that attacked our family,” the Benham Brothers proclaimed.

They shared that they are fed up with leftist activists having their way and silencing Christians to forward their agendas.

“[That agenda] is now demonizing one of the most wholesome families in America,” the brothers insisted. “The Duggars have always been an example of Christian love for each other and society. It’s time for Americans to stand with them against this latest manifestation of anti-Christian bullying.”
