Kris Allen, 27, kicked off the new year in a hospital bed. The Season 8 American Idol champ was in a car crash on Tuesday that left him with a broken wrist.
His mother, Kimberly Allen, tweeted the news and a photo of her son, writing, "From Kris: he's in a lot of pain, arm broke, may not play guitar for a while. Prayers welcome please! #headoncollision."
Kris also shared the news with his fans, noting that his wife, Katy, and dog, Zorro, were in the car, too.
He also shared other news, tweeting, "Yes, I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I'm having a lil baby."
The singer, who won a Ford car from Idol in 2009, thanked "@ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe."
Congrats to Kris and Katy!
He also assured his music fans, "Don't worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the#OutAliveTour is still on."
