Texas First Lady Anita Perry says Washington needs "Christian values" in a new television advertisement that tells the story of her relationship with her husband, Rick.
The 30-second spot, titled "American Story," recounts how Anita Perry married her high school sweetheart and reflects on Texas' small town values. The ad, clearly targeted at Iowa evangelical voters, also focuses on Rick Perry's service in the Air Force.

"We grew up in small towns, raised with Christian values -- values we still believe in," Anita Perry says. "And we know Washington, D.C., could use some of that."

Rick Perry's efforts to court evangelical voters in Iowa received a blow yesterday when a prominent Christian leader endorsed GOP rival Rick Santorum. But there's still time for the Texas governor to make inroads as he travels across Iowa on a two-week bus tour.

Check out the latest ad, which will air both nationally and in Iowa, below.
