DALLAS, TX – Brokenness. Heartache. Change. Shame. Guilt. Millions of women the world over struggle with these feelings throughout their lives. How they react to these seasons of life determines how successful and fulfilled they become in the future.
In her new book, The Woman, Berline Thenor lifts up the stories of five women in the Bible as a blueprint for how women today can overcome, rise up, and find purpose in the detours of life. The women whose stories are told in this book are not the Marys, Esthers, or Sarahs of Scripture. These women are unnamed and receive only a small thumbprint in the entire Biblical record. However, Thenor believes “the journey of these five nameless women reveals what happens when the will of a woman refuses to accept anything less than her God-given destiny.”
Thenor starts by telling her own story and the life challenges that led her to the writing of The Woman in an effort to help others. She writes, “Even though the names of these women were omitted from their story and many believe that shows lack of importance, I believe that even if we knew their names it would not change the dynamics of their stories which spoke of the strength, courage, and faith they had shown on their journey through womanhood. Their stories resonated with me not only because of what was written, but because of what was hidden between the lines of their stories that we often overlook.”
The Woman: Finding the Strength, Courage, and Faith to Navigate Through the Seasons of Womanhood is available now on Amazon.com.
