Following Clemson’s win over Alabama in last night’s College Football Playoff National Championship game on ESPN, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson declared in an interview with ESPN reporter Tom Rinaldi that his team won because “It’s what God wanted; he picked us for a reason.”
“It’s what God wanted,” stated Watson following Clemson’s victory. “He picked us for a reason. The Clemson Tigers faced Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship game presented by AT&T on Monday in what was a historic rematch of last year’s showdown between the two teams. Clemson went on to prevail in the final moments of the game, winning the national championship with a final score of 35-31.
