ON LOCATION: MEMPHIS Announces Films for Second Annual “SHORTS FESTIVAL” Screening at Hard Rock Cafe In July
This summer, On Location: MEMPHIS (OL:M) is again partnering with the Hard Rock Cafe to bring some of the world’s best short films to the Bluff City. The Second Annual On Location: MEMPHIS Shorts Festival is scheduled for each Tuesday in July at the Hard Rock Cafe Memphis on world-famous Beale Street.
Each week a different category will be spotlighted with Live Action, Animation, Documentary and 2015 festival highlights making up the screening categories.
“Last year’s inaugural festival actually exceeded our expectations,” said OL:M Board Chairman, Angela Green. “We’re proud to show off our city while screening some great films for the loyal Memphis film community. To partner with a brand like the Hard Rock makes this program even better.”
The Live Action slate kicks off the festivities on Tuesday, July 5. The following Tuesday, July 12, the always popular Animation category takes center stage, while Documentary films will conclude the new programming on July 19. Finally, the evening of July 26 will round out the month-long shorts affair with highlights from last year’s On Location: MEMPHIS festival.
At the conclusion of each week’s screenings audience members will vote on their favorites, with the winner granted access to the 17th Annual On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Festival during the second weekend in August. Special musical performances will also be a part of each week’s activities.
“We’ve had a great relationship with On Location: MEMPHIS and the Shorts Festival appeals to Memphis natives and tourists alike,” said Leia Spengler, Hard Rock Cafe Memphis Marketing Manager. “It’s a very fun program to be a part of.”
Shorts programming will kick off at 7 p.m. each week. Vouchers for the 17th Annual On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Festival will also be available. They can be redeemed for two festival passes for $20. This deal will only be available at the Hard Rock Cafe during the shorts programming.
