Bernie Sanders to Speak to Liberty University Students Next Month

Sen. Bernie Sanders is set to speak at Liberty University’s convocation on Sept. 14, according to the convocation schedule posted on the university’s website.

The senator from Vermont is seeking the nomination of the Democratic Party for president.

Liberty’s convocation schedule for the fall also includes Republican presidential contender Ben Carson, Thomas Road Baptist Church pastor Jonathan Falwell, former major league baseball player Darryl Strawberry and a variety of other speakers.

Convocation is Liberty’s thrice-weekly student gathering, frequently drawing over 12,000 people. It is mandatory for residential, undergraduate students.
