Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys is a proud Christian, so when the band’s tour brought them to Jerusalem, the singer did not pass up the chance to get baptised in the Jordan River.
The boys performed on May 21 at the Ra’Anana Amphitheatre in Israel, and after the performance, Littrell and his wife Leighanne took the time to visit famous historical sites and get baptised, which the singer described as an “amazing experience.”
Aside from the baptismal experience, the two and the rest of the Backstreet Boys climbed the top of Masada and walked the street of Via Dolorosa where Jesus Christ carried the cross to His crucifixion.
“Walked the Via Dolorosa today in Jerusalem… The feeling is unlike any other… What a moving/emotional experience… ‘It is finished’ He said… The Tomb of Jesus Christ….” Littrell wrote.
He shared a group photo with his bandmates sans Kevin hanging out in King Herod’s privy. “Guards would stand at the top and listen to men gossip,” he wrote about the place. “If you talked SMACK, you would be caught with your Pants down….. Or maybe your robe up…. Caesaria 2000 years ago.”
After that, Littrell shared a selfie with his wife as he thanked Israel for all the amazing experiences they had in the place. “Headed back from Israel this morning…. What an amazing time… The history/sights/loving people/and food……. Wow!! If you haven’t been, I encourage you to go… It is life changing…. What a wonderful place…. BSB Fans were so gracious…. Look forward to coming back,” he concluded.
