Tiger Woods says his troublesome back is feeling better.
But he didn’t say when he’ll play again.
Woods announced via Twitter and on his website Wednesday that he is in therapy every day as he battles back from his latest setback. He also said he needs a lot of work on his game, which saw him miss the cut in Phoenix and withdraw last week in San Diego at Torrey Pines, where he’s won a record eight times.
“The last two weeks have been very disappointing to me, especially Torrey, because I never want to withdraw. Unfortunately, lately injuries have made that happen too often,” Woods wrote. “This latest injury is not related to my previous surgery. I am having daily physical therapy and I am feeling better every day.”
Woods has had four surgeries to his left knee and underwent back surgery on March 31, 2014.
Woods missed the Masters and U.S. Open last year and played in just nine events, finishing 72 holes on just four occasions. This year, he’s played in just two events – and didn’t make it to the weekend.
At the Waste Management Phoenix Open two weeks ago, Woods said his back was 100% but he struggled with his chipping and shot his highest score, 82, in the second round before departing the grounds.
