Parents in one community are fired up about God and the Constitution.
Thursday, we told you about two atheist students who complained to the American Humanist Association.
Two students were upset another student mentioned God during his morning announcements.
The school district said it’s trying to avoid a possible lawsuit for violation of the separation of church and state clause.
Pastor John Kasper of Black Rock church in Yulee was one of several people holding ‘God Bless America’ signs in front of the high school Friday morning. Others were waiving the American flag.
“I know that he was not disciplined. I get that. But still, with the political correctness in America, they’re trying to suppress and silence the Christian voice,” Kasper said.
Brenda Lidell’s grandchildren go to Yulee High School.
“The fact that he was told he couldn’t say what was in his heart anymore, that’s wrong,” she said.
Several cars honked and cheered as they passed the group.
