It looks like Pastor Saeed Abedini will spend another Christmas away from his family.
Saeed Abedini is an American citizen who was arrested and imprisoned in his native Iran in 2012 while building a government-approved orphanage.
“With young children, who are getting older and realize more and more that their dad is not there and why, it becomes that much tougher for the kids and the family here in the United States,” says Jordan Sekulow with the American Center for Law and Justice.
ACLJ has been publicizing Abedini’s imprisonment and seeking his release.
In November, ACLJ attorney Tiffany Barrans told OneNewsNow that Abedini’s son told his mother that all he wanted for Christmas was for his father to be home.
Pastor Abedini has not been in good health. Sekulow does add, however, that a family member was able to visit Abedini last week. It was the first visit he’s been allowed in nearly two months.
