Are the New York Knicks Leaning on the Word of God While on a Losing Streak?

The New York Knicks have had their worst start in franchise history, and may now be leaning on the Bible to get them through it.

With rookie coach and five-time championship winner Derek Fisher leading them, the Knicks have lost their last eight games, leaving them in 14th place in the Eastern conference. The Knicks have had their worst start after 20 games for any of the franchise’s teams dating back to it’s first season in 1946-’47.

According to The Wall Street Journal’s Chris Herring, the team had a Bible verse written on a whiteboard in the locker room Sunday, which may be helping the players get through the challenges they face.

“Bible scripture up on Knicks’ white board in locker room. ‘The pain you’ve been feeling can’t compare to the joy that is coming.’ Romans 8:18,” Herring tweeted Sunday.

Phil Jackson, the Knicks’ president who is best known as an 11-time championship winning NBA coach, said his team’s mentality may need more work than their skills on the court.
