Robert Tillman Kendall – who was once minister at Westminster Chapel – had lunch with the 28-year-old at his home in Pretoria
A Christian minister today begged for people to pray for Oscar Pistorius after meeting the athlete at his Pretoria home for lunch.
Robert Tillman Kendall tweeted a picture of himself with the 28-year-old, who is currently on trial accused of murdering his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The 78-year-old, who has written about 50 books, including one called Total Forgiveness, tweeted a picture of himself with Pistorius.
He wrote: “Oscar Pistorius gave me lunch in his home today in Pretoria, South Africa. Please, please, do pray for him.”
Mr Kendall was the minister at Westminster Chapel between February 1977 to February 2002. He also studied at the University of Oxford.
Pistorius was pictured today arriving at Weskoppies mental health hospital where he is to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
The Blade Runner was driven into the facility in a Chevrolet Sonic this morning and security around the hospital remains tight.
He will undergo tests to see if his Generalised Anxiety Disorder played any role in the shooting of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
He will be monitored by four psychiatrists as an outpatient for 30 days, meaning he will have to visit every weekday for the next six weeks.
