According to BCNN1 on April 30, a man, reportedly, tried to stab Bishop Eddie Long on Easter Sunday at New Birth in Atlanta.

Someone that attended the second service on Easter, tweeted this statement:

That N***a Tried To Stab Bishop Eddie Long At Church Today… The Tweet was tweeted at 7:28 p.m., and that’s all we’ll say about the twitter page (without providing a link) because much of the language on the site is quite racy and vulgar.

To confirm the report of the incident, New Birth’s Facebook page reads:

Service was off the chain yesterday The Lord used Bishop Eddie Long especially when that man jumped in the pulpit. The enemy will come to distract you to get you off focus….. When the bishop said that I got so full and happy. That was for sure a moment. I love Bishop eddie long. Anointed man of God.

Let me clarify my comment. It was written regarding the incident of the young man who rushed the pulpit as Bishop Long was speaking during the second service. He (the young man) had to be taken down by security so as not to cause anyone any injuries. A previous commentator spoke about the timing of this occurrence and Bishop Long’s statement, “don’t get distracted.” Bishop Long is a great prophet and orator, so of course he can take a situation, no matter how quickly or long ago it happened, and make it part of his sermon.
