Lights, camera, action: they can be intoxicating and it appears the Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, former Christian minister preaching the gospel, has gotten drunk with the toxic trio.
Somewhere along the way, the allure fame, notoriety and materialism lured her away from God, leading to a life out of control—something her ex-husband Kordell Stewart noted.
In response to Williams’ claims of physical abuse against her NFL star ex during a recent Access Hollywood interview, he spoke out in his own defense to The Atlanta Journal Constitution, noting that she has, in fact, lost her way.
“I married my wife because she was a Godly woman who had accepted her calling as a minister. The bright lights made Porsha lose her way. I no longer know the person she has become,” Stewart said.
Though in his full AJC statement he did not directly deny the abuse claim, in a different statement to Access Hollywood, Stewart definitively refuted it.
“It’s not true. I’ve never abused her. Never put my hands on her. Never,” he said—words read on air by the hosts.
“I hope and pray she can turn her life around soon. I loved my wife, supported her and invested in her success,” he told AJC.
Williams, who never made claims of violence during the marriage, in divorce filings, or court proceedings, is just now speaking out.
But Stewart pointed out, “As a reminder, I divorced her. At no time has there been any findings against me, during or before the divorce proceedings, to indicate anything less than a loving and supportive husband.”
